SKIN IS IN
When it comes to wedding day makeup I will always do my best to meet the brides expectations of how she envisages her dream wedding makeup to look.

There is no denying everyones idea of natural is very different and has their own skin concerns therefore coverage and finish is up to you what you are comfortable with.
Whatever the coverage my approach to makeup is that it should be that perfect harmony of photographing beautifully but also looking naturally flawless up close and in person too!

Makeup will always sit better and look more perfected if the skin is absolutely glowing from being well looked after and hydrated.
See my previous blog post talking about a routine that will have your skin looking its best in no time.

I want to talk with you about some of my hero Bobbi Brown products I use in my kit and absolutely swear by for bridal makeup

Base Skin Prep
1. Bobbi Brown Extra Face Oil

If you are someone who has dry or dehydrated skin this oil will be your best friend!
How do you use it on a brides wedding day you ask?
Typically I like to do the brides makeup last so that it is as fresh as can be prior to walking down the aisle.
To make the bride feel extra pampered I start out with a mini facial, Using the Bobbi Brown Treatment lotion soaked on cotton pads then swiped all over the skin and neck particularly focussing on areas that can look dry like the under eye.

Following up with applying a few drops of extra face oil to the skin and massaging all over, will really get the blood flowing and bring out a flush
Letting the oil soak into the face for a few hours while I work on the rest of the bridal party will mean the skin is being extremely nourished before her makeup is applied then removing the oil with a hot muslin before her makeup will buff away any dryness leaving the skin absolutely glowing to begin makeup.

2. Bobbi Brown Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm in Golden Glow
I cannot rave about this product enough! It has become my own personal fave in my makeup bag as well as in my kit.
A nourishing moisturiser that has skin care properties, a refined golden shimmer that gives you a lit from within base leaving the skin looking instantly glowing!
I find foundation is easier to buff into the skin over top of this as it helps the makeup from clinging to any dry patches - This is also my secret weapon for makeup free days!

3. Bobbi Brown Skin Long Wear Weightless Foundation
The base every bride wants, great coverage with a breathable light weight feel and natural finish that will still be completely there at the end of the night with 16 hour wear.
Our NZ summer has been seriously testing against makeup for brides this season with the heat and humidity being at an all time high! The last thing you want to feel on the day is as if your face is melting away - I have felt super confident with this foundation being waterproof and sweat proof it does not slide around and offers complete oil control - amazing!

4. Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Colour
The dreamiest formula for the lips! Full pigment, creamy and comfortable to wear yet a long lasting finish! Literally ticks all the boxes and comes in the most gorgeous shades to suit everyone.
One of my go to shades is Neutral Rose which is pictured on my beautiful model Jemma in these photos (dabbed in for a much softer finish)
I am also guilty of being totally obsessed with the gold packaging - a perfect accessory to detail shots on any brides special day!

5. Bobbi Brown Instant Full Cover Concealer
An incredible concealer for brightening and correcting darkness under the eye area that gives a wide eyed & well slept effect!
I love how the formula is non drying so won't look cakey or too heavy.
Because this formula is so pigmented the key to it looking airbrushed and flawless is buffing in a small amount on the desired area, a little really does go a long way!
