fenty beauty review

This Fenty Beauty collection by Rihanna really pulled me in!
It seemed as though her launch absolutely took the beauty community by storm and its easy to see why...She didn't only launch one or two products she released a whole line of face and lip products with an extremely impressive 40 shades of foundations?!

Im sorry but KKW beauty who??
That really is something to commend and I think all other beauty brands need to recognise thats how it should be...there are millions of skin tones in the world and yet some brands only manage to put out 8 shades! How does that have every woman sorted?

Any who...Rihanna is a bad bitch so of course she was gonna try and cater to all of us ladies no matter what colour our skin is....AMEN SISTAH

So after jumping straight onto Sephora NZ site..which might I add, I was very impressed that NZ was up to pa with the worldwide launch and not lagging behind like with most new product launches!
After watching some reviews I poured over the collection trying to think what I wanted to try most and that I would actually use..because lets be honest her pricing isn't crazy expensive but its definitely up there so I wanted to choose wisely.
Number one was the foundation because its probably had the most attention and hype from the whole collection...mostly being rave reviews!
Secondly I am such a gloss gal these days and the one shade she released really spoke to me so that was added to cart too! annd can never go past a new highlighter so picked up the beautiful killawatt duo

Makeup pictured below are using all three and a few hand swatches...Sorry swatches aren't my thing so these aren't the best!

Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation
Shade navigation for the foundation was a little tricky but I did my research looking at swatches online and decided I would try 140 keeping in mind a lot of the reviews showed the foundation to oxidise
I am normally an NC20 in mac and Deauville in NARS sheer glow this time of the year so quite pale
The shade 140 when first applied was a little pale but got better as it dried down and got a little more colour with oxidising so I can confirm it definitely does do this!
It was a good winter shade for me but we are heading into summer so I did make another order and picked up 180 as I will get a little darker coming into summer now not by much probably only to NC25-30 and Fiji in NARS

Shade aside this formula is STUNNING! I didn't fall in love straight away as I was using a buffing brush to apply it and it would appear a little streaky on the skin but as soon as I used it with a beauty blender...absolutely flawless and airbrushed yet feels light on the skin, dries down very matte feeling but has a slight satin finish to it...and the longevity of it is where it seriously impresses me!
You can see in my photo wearing it, it makes my skin look so picture perfect yet not heavy at all or like I have a lot of foundation on.
No creasing or fading, I don't get shiny or oily and over all it just stays flawless all day!
I haven't been this wowed by a foundation in a long time, I think if you have an oily skin type and love a decent coverage this is a must try for you! Drier skins could use this too just make sure you are using a really hydrating primer/moisturiser underneath
Packaging gets a thumbs up from me too it feels luxurious and heavy in the glass frosted bottle, included pump is always a huge bonus!
$56

The Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer
Very comfortable to wear and balmy feeling not sticky at all, I can see how it is claimed to be a universal shade because it does somewhat adapt to your skin tone and give your lips a very pretty natural flush that packs high shine...Im all about it I think there is something so youthful about a glossy lip these days.
I tried the matte liquid lip trend but soon realised it actually ages me terribly!
This is gorgeous over a nice nude lip liner too for an even fuller more pouty effect, if your a gloss lover like me I think you need this one.
Adore the geometric packaging too, So chic!
$34

Killawatt freestyle highlighter duo in Lightning Dust/Fire Crystal
I adore the way this looks on the skin the left pan shade lightning dust is beautifully fine and gives a really nice glow to the face making it perfect for an everyday subtle sheen the texture is very much a cream to powder while the other side fire crystal has more shimmer/fine glitter particles in it which really amps up the highlight.

In the photos pictured I have pretty much put it everywhere cheeks, eye lids, inner corner of my eyes, brow bone, nose, above the brow and cupids bow and I love how bright it makes my complexion look! I think if you are fair to medium skin toned you would love this shade.
I have been reaching for this most days as its super beautiful on the skin and I would like to also purchase mean money/hustla baby at some point which is the more golden toned duo I would say if you are darker than medium skin tone go for that one :)
$56

I purchased these all from www.sephora.nz which now has after pay too ladies! when I heard this I thought say no more...

Have you tried anything from the range yet? Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments if you have!

I would love to know this too. I am also nc20 in Mac and deauville in nars and I live in a country that doesn’t stock Fenty so have to order online!

Thanks to your review I was finally able to match my winter shade for the fenty beauty foundation as well as deciding for it after hearing a lot of reviews that is perfect for oily skin Thanks. I bookmarked your blog, and will always read your really great and helpful reviews.
