If you are reading this I am guessing you may be one of the two...a long time sufferer of eczema that has tried everything under the sun or someone who is dealing with eczema for the first time wondering where the hell to start!

If you follow my instagram stories you might have seen this was my reality about 8 weeks ago which had me super stumped as to where to start with it, I trialled numerous amounts of products and these have been the ones I've noticed help the most.

I suffered with my skin flared up for a few weeks before I discovered these probiotics, I don't know what are in them but I 100% believe healing up my neck and face was the good doing of these tablets!

Ethical Nutrients Eczema Relief probiotics from Hardys
A follower messaged me and said most skin issues link back to gut health and I should get onto some probiotics which made complete sense, after having Billie I haven't exactly looked after myself super well with diet and exercise & after having a baby your body can be quite depleted of good nutrients so off to the health shop I went and while looking at the probiotic section I saw the eczema version and was instantly sold!

Taking these tablets once daily I noticed my skin getting better by the second day! and 5 days later it was completely healed!
Miracle and huuuuge relief from the pain and redness.
The only down side to this is these are expensive (From memory around $60) and I have had flare ups again since forgetting to take them daily.
So it doesn't prevent it from coming back...yet anyway maybe I need to finish the whole bottle before my skin doesn't need to rely on them.

Even though the pro biotics keep the flare ups at bay my skin has still been the most dry/dehydrated its ever been this year, not sure if its age and getting older or climate change but it was such a shock when I first noticed it changing took me a while to work out what skin care helped the most especially with it feeling so much more sensitive.
These products have been heroes as they are all very gentle yet pack a punch in the hydration department

Trilogy Rosehip Transformation Cleansing Oil
Because I obviously wear makeup most days I wanted something that will gently break down all my makeup without scrubbing at the skin or leaving it feeling stripped. This leaves the skin feeling 100% clean and melts away all traces of makeup yet my face feels velvety soft and nourished and I love the feeling of taking it off with a hot cloth
If I happen to be wearing a lot of makeup I will double cleanse with this but generally once does the job perfectly
Even if you don't have sensitive or overly dry skin I think this is still a great cleanser.

Eau Thermale Avene Spring Water Spray
You may be thinking what the hell is a water spray going to do but this water in particular is from a spring in south france that has extreme healing benefits and I find it to me mostly comforting on the skin and also like a refreshing pick me up. (summer months I even chuck one in the fridge!)
I have one of these everywhere possible in my baby bag, in the car, bathroom and next to my bed! Its beautiful to sprits on your skin any time to give it a hydration boost.
Because my hands get so dry sometimes I will even spray it on the tops of my hands before a meeting so they don't look old and wrinkly ha ha

Love Skin Waiwai Oil for sensitive skin
Quite a recent discovery for me but I am so happy I found it because what a beautiful oil! A gentle blend of certified organic botanical oils, when the my skin was feeling rough from eczema this is incredibly soothing and helps with inflammation, What I love most is that it’s super nourishing yet sinks into the skin really well!
Also a NZ made brand which is super cool.

Weleda White Mallow Face Cream
If you are wanting a heavy cream on the face that will almost act like a barrier to protect the skin for any further damage this is lovely because it doesn't feel like a barrier cream when wearing it but the texture is again super comforting and nourishing

Eau Thermale Xera Calm AD (cream in the tube)
During the ups and downs of flare ups my skin would either be extremely itchy or sore at night and this was the only cream I found to actually really calm it so I could get a comfortable sleep!
It would also take down the redness which made me feel heaps better about how it was all looking too, nothing worse when your dealing with these sorts of skin issues on your face because there is literally no hiding it!

Eau Thermale Xera Calm AD (Shower cleansing oil for face and body)
I didn't suffer from much eczema on my body but my skin was still dry and this seemed to really help in the shower with not irritating my neck and left the skin feeling really soft and nourished, So if you are suffering with eczema on your body this would be a good shower option to look into

Weleda Skin Food
I have been seeing so many people use and rave about this product and I have to say I am just as obsessed with it! I feel as though its another one of those products you need in every corner of your life! Its pretty much one of those all purpose creams thats a bit of an everything balm but I have been really enjoying using it on my hands for the dermatitis. Smells really good and is actually a very in expensive product thats pretty easy to get your hands on as there are many stockists of weleda throughout NZ including Farmers
