I am all about having healthy looking hair! Its something that always makes me feel good about myself when my locks are shiny and maintained.

With the summer months sometimes humidity can make your hair look a little cray and make you feel as though you wasted two hours of your life washing, drying and styling it!

Recently I booked into Rodney Wayne Fort street to have a Treatment, Toner and Blow wave just before my wedding. I wanted my hair to be in optimum health before the big day!
I thought a blog post would be the perfect opportunity to share what my stylist suggested for summer styling tips, Ive used Kerastase for years so I am no stranger to their products but I will show you what I have been using from the range and some new bits that my stylist introduced me to! In the past my hair would always tend to get a bit wrecked looking over summer with all the salty dips and excessive heat styling so I've learnt to keep on top of it with good products and I have to say it always great to start summer with a trim!

My lovely stylist recommended the Kerastase Nutritive range for shampoo and conditioner which is packed with hydrating ingredients which my hair is always in desperate need of from lightening it - I have actually already been using this range at home so was pleased to know I was prescribing my hair the right stuff!
She also did the most amazing fusio-dose kerastase treatment which is a customised treatment to suit your hair needs - I went for nutrition and shine which is for moisture and colour.

One word - HEAVENLY! If your ever thinking of a quick pamper these treatments are an amazing service and the results are instantly and can last up to 30 washes in the hair.
Next step was back at the chair and she advised on using the LIncroyable blow-dry which is a lightweight milky product that acts as a heat protectant from heat stylers and also is like a sealant on the hair so humidity can't ruin your efforts of styling!

After my hair was washed and styled my waves lasted for 3 days! which is very good for my hair! Its normally super limp by the second day and the style drops out  especially when the weather is really hot!

I asked senior stylist Milly Briant at fort street Rodney wayne if she had some really handy tips for fighting frizz this summer to pass on so here they are!

"If you blow wave your hair, don’t just blast it with hot air and hope for the best! Most hairdryers have a cool-shot button. Use this, with the nozzle pointed down the hair shaft, to lock shine in, lock out frizz and set your style."

"Starting to notice frizz a couple hours after your blow wave efforts? Carry a polishing balm in your bag for a quick fix.

Use a small amount in the palm of your hands and lightly smooth over the hair (the trick is to not be too heavy handed!)
Kérastase Nutritive Crème Magistral works an absolute treat at polishing the hair "

"If your hair has a tendency to turn into a frizzy mess during the summer, the first step to fighting frizz is to book in for a good trim. This will ensure you get rid of any split ends that will make your hair look straw-like"

"As much as we love spending all day at the beach, we all know salt water can turn our hair into a right shambles! Prevent the drying effects from the salt by using a product that contains a water-proofing effect and UV barrier for swimmers.
Try Kérastase Soleil CC Cream to prevent excess summer damage "
