If you follow my insta stories and snapchat you may have seen I often make these bliss balls which are such a yummy guilt free treat!
These will 100% curb those sweet/chocolate cravings with the hero ingredients being date and cacao.
I always like to have these on hand as they are so easy to take to work when on the go!
Also to all my fellow pregnant ladies these are perfect for the dreaded slower bowel movements as the dates are packed with good fibre to help keep things regular!
With only 8 weeks to go before this baby arrives I have been making a conscious effort to fill up the freezer with easy meals and I thought since these are best straight from the freezer they will be the perfect snack when I'm a tired mama, whilst being packed with good wholesome ingredients
3 Cups almonds
1 Cup Cashews
4 TBS chia seeds
4 TBS flaxseeds
2 cups dates
1/4 tsp vanilla essence
3 Cups shredded coconut (add more if consistency is too sticky)
1 TBS orange juice (I used mandarin juice today as a substitute as thats what I had in my fruit bowl)
3 TBS raw cacao powder
- Blitz nuts, seeds and coconut (I use a nutri bullet) until you have a soil like consistency, I have found it more effective to do this in small batches rather than filling the bullet right to the top
- Boil water and soak dates separately
Once softened after 5min drain all water and blitz into rough paste (if your blender gets stuck and it sticks to the sides just add a little more water)
- Combine all wet ingredients into your dry mix and don't be afraid to get messy with your hands working the mixture together evenly. Now is the time to gauge the consistency I find if it seems a little too sticky add more seeds or coconut
- Roll into your preferred size ball and place in tuppaware to freeze
Enjoy and I would love to hear what you think of these if you make them!
